Defense Verdict Secured in Medical Malpractice Trial

May 30, 2025

Toledo, OH

RCO Law is pleased to announce a defense verdict in a medical negligence suit against a diagnostic radiologist and his practice group following a five-day jury trial in Lucas County, Ohio Common Pleas Court. RCO Law partner Kayla L. Henderson led the defense team, including colleagues Sarah T. Knepp, Robert C. Tucker, and other paralegal and administrative support staff.

The patient’s family alleged negligence in our client’s interpretation and reporting of imaging studies following placement of a central venous catheter; the patient subsequently passed away after suffering a stroke and cardiac arrest. Reaching its unanimous verdict in less than two hours, the jury concluded that the physician complied with accepted standards of care and was therefore not liable for causing the patient’s complications or death.

RCO Law is proud to support the competent and compassionate care of area physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other medical professionals facing allegations of medical negligence and malpractice. Representation like this is just a part of our comprehensive healthcare practice.
