Wiley Presents Top 10 Ways to Stay Out of a Lawsuit for Nurses Week

Health Care Attorney Julie Wiley will present "The Top 10 Ways to Stay Out of a Lawsuit: Documentation and Communication" on Wednesday, May 8 at noon, to nurses and risk managers at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Julie's presentation is a part of National Nurses Week honoring nursing professionals from May 6 through 12.

In her presentation Julie will cover elements of a medical negligence claim; and will define a claim vs. a lawsuit. She will also discuss standards of care; medical malpractice lawsuits; privileged and non-privileged communication; and the importance of documentation.

This continuing education program was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association, an Ohio Board of Nursing approver.

Julie currently serves as the chairman of the Litigation Practice Group at RCO Law. With over 40 years of experience, Julie serves as lead defense counsel on medical negligence cases throughout the State of Ohio. She is dedicated to the health care industry, representing physicians, residents, hospitals, nurses and the medical providers faced with professional negligence claims. She also represents medical professionals during investigations by professional associations and licensure boards. Julie has assisted clients in developing educational programs, and policies and procedures. She is a past president and long-time board member of the Society of Ohio Hospital Attorneys (SOHA).
