RCO Law Honored with Family Friendly Firm Award

RCO Law was honored by the Toledo Women’s Bar Association with its Family Friendly Firm award at its annual meeting on May 20, 2026. Created in 2005, the Family Friendly Award recognizes legal employers offering workplace policies to help lawyers achieve and maintain a healthy work-life balance, demonstrating support for employees and their families.
“We are proud to be recognized among our peers for committing to an environment where folks do not have to choose between a successful career and a family. Affording our team members the ability to achieve both personal and professional goals makes them stronger community members, collaborators and attorneys,” commented Pete Lavalette, managing partner. “We strive to foster a family-first environment with an intentional approach to planning events throughout the year that encourage family participation.”
The Firm’s family-centric philosophy is exemplified in its family leave and employee benefits policies. In nominating the Firm for this recognition, associate attorney Kate Murray shared, “with my first child, RCO’s parental leave policy allowed me to adequately recover, bond with my daughter, and adjust to motherhood without the pressure of returning to work too quickly. Because of this support, I was able to come back rested, confident, and ready to focus fully on serving our clients.”
