About Jean

Jean serves individual clients and businesses in Ohio and Michigan with an emphasis on commercial litigation, insurance, agribusiness, real estate and financial matters, construction disputes, and medical malpractice defense.

For over 30 years, Jean has been defending hospitals and physicians in Ohio and Michigan on birth injury, cardiology, radiology, pulmonary, oncology, and surgical claims. Jean has resolved issues for healthcare clients on complex cases whether through negotiations, mediation, or trial. Her legal counsel for healthcare providers also includes hospital premises claims, employee misconduct, and confidentiality issues.

As a seasoned and successful litigator, she has secured multi-million-dollar verdicts for commercial clients. Jean’s proven record in commercial litigation includes complex real estate disputes, contract enforcement, and creditor work-out and recoveries. Representing the insurance industry, Jean has defended construction injury claims and coverage disputes.

Raised on a farm in southeast Michigan, Jean has an affinity for farmers and their families. She understands farmers, farm cooperatives, and agribusinesses and offers counsel on real estate, business relations, crop production, and contracting matters.

  • Jean has handled many construction disputes including both litigation and arbitration of multimillion dollar construction defect/repair claims, delay damages and lien/bond claims.
