RCO Law is searching for a highly motivated, independent, and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. The ideal candidate will thrive with deadline-driven work and demonstrate initiative to solve problems and complete tasks. Skills and attributes should include but not be limited to:
- Drafting routine legal transactional and real estate documents for review by supervising attorney
- Assist with due diligence, title commitments and surveys, closings, and related matters for purchase or sale of business or real estate
- Perform UCC searches, bankruptcy and SCRA Servicemember searches, and regulatory websites for licensure and entity status
- New entity and related business filings with Ohio and Michigan state agencies
- Recording of deeds and other legal documents
- Assist supervising attorneys with drafting collection complaints and related supporting documents
- Knowledge of collection procedures; garnishments and bankruptcy experience a plus
- Drafting, reviewing and revising routine correspondence, documents, and pleadings
- Maintaining court docket and other case management schedules, and tracking and updating related deadlines;
- Familiarity with local and regional court and administrative agency procedural rules, including e-filing documents in appropriate courts;
Job Requirements
- Candidate should possess a paralegal certification by the Ohio State Bar Association (or equivalent), with undergraduate degree preferred;
- 3 – 5 years of collections experience strongly preferred;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal communications with co-workers, clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court staff;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat applications;
- Strong attention to detail; self-starter; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; and enthusiasm for working as part of a team.

- Primarily based out of the Firm’s Toledo office, with potential for periodic remote work;
Compensation: salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, and bonus potential; benefits include health care, paid time off, life insurance and 401k deferred compensation.
